Blanton Supplies Inc. became a business entity in November 1981 as a division from the W.F. Cox Co. Inc.

In 1953, the W.F. Cox Co. was established by three owners: Paul Rogers, Sr., Charles Leggette, and James P. Blanton, who would serve as the general manager. In 1966, a second location was established in town as a building supply. In 1969, Rogers and Blanton purchased the Leggette portion of the business and remained until the retirement of James P. Blanton in 1981.

At this time, the Rogers family retained the name of W.F. Cox Co., and the building supply was established with the name Blanton Supplies Inc., owned by the Blanton family. The Blanton family has been here since 1953, for a total of 65 years.

Frankie Blanton started as a salesperson on October 1, 1968, and became the manager of the building supply division in 1971. Blanton Supplies started with Frankie Blanton as the CEO in November 1981. Expansion to Little River, SC, in May 1986, and Marion, SC, in 1993. Frankie Blanton still serves as the CEO and has just completed 50 years of service.

Frankie's son, Eric Blanton, actively serves in the business as the major buyer of materials.
